Christmas 2010

Christmas Morning!! In the past us kids would get up at 3:00 in the morning and we would have Christmas. When Skyler was born and we could not get him up that early we had to move it to six. Well Spencer is 4 at heart when it comes to Christmas. he is always the first one one and gets everyone up and is super super giddy. We had to make a new rule for him a few years ago. The rule is that you are not aloud to go in the living room until everyone is there and if you see their present you cant tell them. we had that problem once he would go in and see everything and then come in and tell you what you got. This year Skyler was super excited also. Here are some pictures of the morning...

It was a great morning. Nils did not like that we had to get up so early to open presents. In Sweden they do it on the 24Th. We ate Breakfast, and Played the dance game on the wii, and then we all got ready and we went to Lehi it see Grandpa Jones and got our presents form him. and visited with Uncle Bill, Aunt Annette, Becca Brad, Abby and Maggie. It was so nice. then we had a Christmas dinner and just chilled the rest of the night.
It was truly a great and merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve 2010

Yeah! Ice Skating! So we (the fam) have been trying to go ice skating the whole month of December and for random reasons it could never happen. We wanted to take Nils. He is really good ( all he brought in his suitcase when he came was underwear, socks and Ice Skates) and loves it. So we went on the 24Th. We drove up to the Ogden Ice Sheet. It as so much fun. here are some pictures..

After we were done with Ice skating we went home an mom and I started on dinner. We had a Turkey and Ham, Funeral potato's, a yummy pear, bacon, pecan green salad, rolls, corn, and grandma brought a cranberry Christmas salad and there was chocolate cake for dessert.
After we ate we just chilled and started our normal Christmas eve traditions, we were just sitting in the living room and somehow got on the subject of lighting matches and mom and Spencer did it with their front teeth and then grandpa Darrell said something about making a dart match thing with clothes pins. so we got some out and made some! OH MAN THEY ARE SO SO COOL! we had so much fun and grandma got so mad at grandpa. DJ even lit dad on fire. :) Grandpa showed me how to make them so i could get dates :) then we calmed down and read the Christmas story from Luke 2, then we played pit, threw the reindeer food on the roof then we drank the "Sleeping Potion".. which is mom's way of drugging us and sending us to bed. (Seriously she wont tells us what it in there) It was a super great day!

Christmas in Logan :)

It is that time of year and for some reason it just has not felt like Christmas. But as it is getting closer we have been doing little things to help. On Monday Lindsey and I made this gingerbread house at FHE. :)

I think that it turned out pretty well for a last min thing. it is our shack with a garage. :) I really love our little orange car to go with it. (we were very very giggly when we made it. :) )

Emma Bought a tree for the apartment. it only cost 14 dollars and it is super cute. But as we put decorations on it it looked more and more like a charlie brown tree. :) I love it and think that it is so cute! It is perfect for a bunch of poor college students. :)

I hope you all have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Cleaning

So I spent my Saturday Cleaning. We have winter cleaning checks today and so I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. I did not really mind it was something that needed to be done and it always feels nice to have a clean house. I just wish it would stay that way. :)

I Scrubed out the fridge.. YUCK!!! Oh man there was so much nasty stuff that had been spilled all over and there was a TON of moldy food in there. I sprayed that baby down with antibacterial cleaner and tossed anything with mold. (I think someone was doing science experiment in there :) lol) I cleaned all the counters and cupboards in the kitchen, vacuumed the whole place and cleaned the bathroom.

I have noticed that i have a favorite cleaning product. It works so well and you can use it on just about everything..

I LOVE THESE! they are so great! they are soft on one side and scrubby on the other. I use them all the time. They are defiantly my favorite cleaning product! :)

Even though I did a lot of cleaning I was able to veg a little. While i was cleaning I watched part of the movies, She's all that, Last Holiday, First Daughter, Chasing Liberty and the jazz game. but i did take a break and watch all of 16 candles. Oh man I seriously love the 80's they were so great.

I dropped stuff of at DI, pick up a few things, went Grocery shopping and by the end of the night I crashed. I got into bed to fall a sleep when I saw the movie Free Willey was on and ended up staying up til midnight( Which for those of you who know lately i am out by 10:30 unless something is going on) I loved those movies growing up.

All in all it was a pretty good day off Saturday. :)

Fun Friday

Yesterday was a great day. It was my dads company party. We were able to go see The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Oh my goodness it was so so good! I loved it. I think that it was the best out of all of them. :) The company gave us popcorn, candy, and a drink. Oh and the movie was in 3D. It was so wonderful. My dad's work is the best!

After the movie we wandered and shopped at the Gateway! I love the gateway at Christmas. It is so festive. we walked around for a while and looked in a bunch of shops. while my mom and dad were in a store me, DJ, Janice, and Skyler went into Rue 21. we found some fun things to try on..

Then I have the most wonderful DAD in the world who bought me a Carmel Apple from The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. OH I love them and I LOVE my Dad!
What a great day with family and to get into the Christmas spirit.

Kaysville Star

On Thursday I drove home to Kaysville for my dad company party on Friday. I did not get to Kaysville until about 8:30ish and as I got off the exit and headed east on 200 north I saw it and it almost made me cry(because of excitement) I was home! The star on the mountain is one of my most favorite things about this time of the year. It is so bright and wonderful. I makes Kaysville home. I love this tradition and am grateful for the people who make it happen.

Best Monday night in a long time :)

Last night I had one of the best nights I have had in a while. I only had to work for 3 hrs and got of at 4. Then I got a text about FHE and decided to go. me and emma went and it was one of the best FHE's we have been to in a long time. there were just a bunch of random people from the ward( about 20 of us total) we had a quick scripture and then we played some games. the first game was super fun and I had never heard of it before. what you did was everyone wrote down one Celeberity name on a piece of paper and put it in the pile. then one person read the names only twice and then we had to guess who wrote down what name. if you gess correctly then that person joined your team and you kept going. the last person to be guessed won. it was super fun. then we played another game which is called smurf. Oh man i don't think that i have laughed this hard in a long time. what happens is one person goes out of the room and they are it. the rest of the people decide on something that is the "smurf" and then the person who is it has to come in and ask us questions about what the "smurf" might be. one of our "smurfs" was excercising. so some of the questions were do you smurf with boys or girls? and an answer might be you can do it with both. the trick is to give vague and awkward answers so they have a hard time guessing it. the second "smurf" we did was smiling. and my favorite question and answer was... Q: " can you smurf at a funurel?" A: "you can it depends on who died." oh man we laughed so hard. the guys who played were such good sports. then we ate cookies and went home.

I also talked to a cute boy. I have been super scared to talk to this boy and the last time i tried i said something totally stupid. the funniest part is my mom giving me flurting advice.. it was to make "eye contact"(said in the tone from the movie "the ringer") touch his elbow, and to keep him talking about himself. I seriously was laughing so hard as she was telling me these things. For those of you who know me i am very bad at flurting. As my mom told me this week i get my flurting skill from my dad and not her. my mom is the BIGGEST flurt know to man. the rest of my family has this skill but not me. it is so hard for her to have me be 26 and not married espically since she has been trying since i was in high school. But i did talk to him and surrived and i did make "eye contact" so i guess we will see what happen. :)

After FHE I got a message from a girl in my old ward that she was going swing dancing. I have not been forever but i decided that i should go. so i did. it was super fun. Anthony(a kid in my ward) was there and he danced with me a few time and he is really good. I got to dance to my favorite line dance( save a horse ride a cowboy) it was so much fun. I can't wait to go back. :)

I have not had a good night out to just have fun and Laugh a ton with friends for a while. i am either at work or doing something else. it was so great and i am going to have to make time for it more often. it is good for the sole.

Meltdowns

With working at the credit union and being inside grocery stores I witness thousands of children "melting down". They cry, scream, jump up and down in the cart, crawl on the floor and many more crazy things. the other day I saw one of the worst i have ever seen. poor kid. after work i called my mom and we were talking and i mentioned the meltdown. she told me that from her experience most meltdowns are caused because the child is either tired or hungry and or both. i can see that, they have been shopping with mom all day and have missed their normal routine and are just not sure how to express or contain their emotions.

Well I am 26 and almost had one myself yesterday. It was fast Sunday and I had been at church longer than normal and was super hungry. As the meeting was suppose to be coming to a close more and more people went up to bare their testimony. now they were all great but we have not gotten out of church on time for the past month. me and my roommate Emma were about to scream. then when they ended the song was suppose to be sung at a tempo of 112-130 and i think that we sang it at 2 ( OK so that is a little over exaggerated but i was really hungry) Emma and I could not take it and just started laughing and mocking. then i felt bad. as soon as amen was said i turned to Emma and said "I have to leave or I am going to be super mean to very nice people" she totally understood and felt the same way.

I ran out of church and quickly came home and got some food in me. it was amazing how close to tears i was. I had to call my mom and just laugh about how her 26 year old daughter almost had a melt down like a 2 year old. we just laughed and decided that anyone could have one for the same reasons as a 2 year old. hungry and tired. :)
